RESUMEN

In electroplating sludge, iron (Fe) and aluminum (Al) are common impurities that need to be separated before recycling valuable heavy metals. However, the traditional Fe/Al separation process often leads to significant losses of heavy metals. To address this issue, a new approach was developed to sequentially separate Fe/Al and recycle chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni) from real electroplating sludge. The sludge contained 4.5% Cr, 1.2% Al, 1.1% Ni, and 14.6% Fe. Initially, the sludge was completely dissolved in a mixture of hydrochloric and nitric acids. The resulting acid solution was then heated to 160 °C for 10 h with the addition of saccharose. This hydrothermal treatment led to the hydrolysis and crystallization of 98.3% of Fe, 31.8% of Cr, 1.1% of Al, and 4.9% of Ni, forming akaganeite-bearing particles. It was observed that the excessive amount of saccharose also improved the removal of Cr, Al, and Ni, but decreased the removal of Fe. After the hydrothermal treatment, the remaining supernatant was adjusted to different pH levels (1.9, 2.9, and 4.5, respectively), and then Al, Cr, and Ni were stepwise extracted using di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate acid (P204). The recycling efficiencies achieved were 97.4% for Al, 61.2% for Cr, and 89.3% for Ni. This approach provides a promising method for the stepwise separation of Fe/Al and the recycling of heavy metals from electroplating sludge.

RESUMEN

Objective: This study determined the cut-off value of Ki-67 expression and discussed the interaction between Ki-67 and histological grade, further explored the prognostic role of Ki-67 in hormone receptor-positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HR+/HER2-) breast cancer;. Materials and Methods: We assessed the Ki-67 expression of 956 patients with HR+/HER2 breast cancer diagnosed in the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from 2015 to 2019 by immunohistochemistry (IHC), The disease-free survival (DFS) was defined as the time from postoperative to the first local recurrence, distant metastasis or death of the disease. The follow-up by means of inpatient or outpatient medical records and telephone. Results: 22.5% was used as the cut-off for low/high Ki-67 expression in HR+/HER2- breast cancer. Compared with the value of 14%, which is commonly used in clinic at present, the consistency of the two values is moderate (Kappa = 0.484, P<0.001). The expression of Ki-67 was increased with the grade. (Median: G1:10%; G2:20%; G3:40%. Mean: G1:13%; G2:23%; G3:39%, P <0.001). Survival analysis was based on all patients for a median of 51 months (24-89 months), 63 cases had recurrence or metastasis during the follow-up, which 21 cases had low expression of Ki-67 and 42 cases had high expression. The patients with Ki-67 ≥ 22.5% had a 2.969 higher risk of early recurrence and metastasis than the patients with Ki-67 < 22.5%. There were 4 cases of local recurrence, 7 cases of regional lymph node metastasis, and 52 cases of distant metastasis in all patients, the common distant metastases were bone, liver, and lung, and rare metastases were adrenal gland, bone marrow, and pericardium. Conclusion: In HR+/HER2- breast cancer, patients with Ki-67 > 22.5% have a worse prognosis and are more likely to have early recurrence and metastasis.

RESUMEN

We conducted this study aimed to examine the impact of evidence-based nursing interventions on postoperative wound pain and complications after surgery for finger tendon injury. A total of 86 patients treated for finger tendon injuries at our hospital from January 2021 to October 2023 were selected and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. The control group received conventional nursing care, while the experimental group received evidence-based nursing interventions. The study compared the postoperative wound pain intensity, incidence of complications and patient satisfaction with nursing care between the two groups. The analysis revealed that compared with conventional care, evidence-based nursing interventions significantly reduced the level of wound pain (p = 0.034) and the incidence of complications (4.65% vs. 18.60%, p = 0.043). It also increased patient satisfaction with the nursing care (97.67% vs. 83.72%, p = 0.026). The study indicates that the application of evidence-based nursing interventions for patients with finger tendon injuries can reduce postoperative wound pain, decrease the incidence of complications and enhance patient satisfaction with nursing care.

RESUMEN

Seahorses have important edible and medicinal values including strengthening the body, tonifying the liver and kidneys, and reducing swelling. And there are abundant seahorse species on Earth. Many seahorses have large price differences due to the scarcity of resources, and some seahorses with similar appearances appear to be confused for use. While in market trading, Hippocampus is susceptible to loss of specialized morphology characteristics, making it difficult to distinguish between specific species. Here we report an effective method based on peptide biomarkers for the identification of seahorse species. Peptide biomarkers for each species were predicted using nano-liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (Nano-LC-MS/MS) combined with chemometrics software. One unique biomarker peptide for each species was synthesized and verified, and finally developed a liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) multiple reaction monitoring method. The results indicate that the method has great potential for species-specific identification of seahorses and their preparations, among others.

RESUMEN

Background: Neurodegenerative retinal diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa are serious disorders that may cause irreversible visual impairment. Ferroptosis is a novel type of programmed cell death, and the involvement of ferroptosis in retinal degeneration is still unclear. This study aimed to investigate the related ferroptosis genes in a mice model of retinal degeneration induced by light damage. Methods: A public dataset of GSE10528 deriving from the Gene Expression Omnibus database was analyzed to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Gene set enrichment analysis between light damage and control group was conducted. The differentially expressed ferroptosis-related genes (DE-FRGs) were subsequently identified by intersecting the DEGs with a ferroptosis genes dataset retrieved from the FerrDb database. The Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) were further performed using the DE-FRGs. A protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed to identify hub ferroptosis-related genes (HFRGs). The microRNAs (miRNAs)-HFRGs, transcription factors (TFs)-HFRGs networks as well as target drugs potentially interacting with HFRGs were analyzed utilizing bioinformatics algorithms. Results: A total of 932 DEGs were identified between the light damage and control group. Among these, 25 genes were associated with ferroptosis. GO and KEGG analyses revealed that these DE-FRGs were mainly enriched in apoptotic signaling pathway, response to oxidative stress and autophagy, ferroptosis, necroptosis and cytosolic DNA-sensing pathway. Through PPI network analysis, six hub ferroptosis-related genes (Jun, Stat3, Hmox1, Atf3, Hspa5 and Ripk1) were ultimately identified. All of them were upregulated in light damage retinas, as verified by the GSE146176 dataset. Bioinformatics analyses predicated that 116 miRNAs, 23 TFs and several potential therapeutic compounds might interact with the identified HFRGs. Conclusion: Our study may provide novel potential biomarkers, therapeutic targets and new insights into the ferroptosis landscape in retinal neurodegenerative diseases.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Compared to portal vein ligation (PVL), simultaneous bile duct and portal vein ligation (BPL) can significantly enhance hypertrophy of the intact liver. This study aimed to investigate whether BPL could improve survival after extended hepatectomy independently of an increased remnant liver. METHODS: We adopted rat models of 90% BPL or 90% PVL. To investigate the role of bile acids (BAs) the BA pools in the PVL and BPL groups were altered by the diet. Staged resection preserving 10% of the estimated liver weight was performed 3 days after BPL; PVL; or sham operation. Histology, canalicular network (CN) continuity; and hepatocyte polarity were evaluated. RESULTS: At 3 days after BPL; PVL; or sham operation when the volumetric difference of the intended liver remained insignificant, the survival rates after extended hepatectomy were 86.7%, 47%, and 23.3%, respectively (P<0.01). BPL induced faster restoration of canalicular integrity along with an intensive but transient BA overload. Staged hepatectomy after BPL shortened the duration of the bile CN disturbance and limited BA retention. Decreasing the BA pools in the rats that underwent BPL could compromise these effects, whereas increasing the BA pools of rats that underwent PVL could induce similar effects. The changes in CN restoration were associated with activation of LKB1. CONCLUSION: In addition to increasing the future remnant liver, BPL shortened the duration of the spatial disturbance of the CN and could significantly improve the tolerance of the hypertrophied liver to staged resection. BPL may be a safe and efficient future option for patients with an insufficient remnant liver.

RESUMEN

Real-time monitoring of mitochondrial dynamic changes plays a key role in the development of mitochondria-targeted anticancer theranostic agents. In this work, a pH-responsive and mitochondria-targeted cyclometalated iridium(III) complex MitoIr-NH has been explored as a novel anticancer agent. MitoIr-NH displayed pH-responsive phosphorescence intensity and lifetime, accumulated in mitochondria, showed higher antiproliferative activity and induced a series of mitochondria-related events. Moreover, MitoIr-NH could simultaneously induce mitophagy and quantitatively monitor mitochondrial pH changes through two-photon phosphorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (TPPLIM) in a real-time manner.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The basolateral amygdala (BLA) neurons are primarily glutamatergic and have been associated with emotion regulation. However, little is known about the roles of BLA neurons expressing neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS, Nos1) in the regulation of emotional behaviors. METHODS: Using Nos1-cre mice and chemogenetic and optogenetic manipulations, we specifically silenced or activated Nos1+ or Nos1- neurons in the BLA, or silenced their projections to the anterdorsal bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (adBNST) and ventral hippocampus (vHPC). We measured anxiety behaviors in elevated plus maze (EPM) and open-field test (OFT), and measured depression behaviors in forced swimming test (FST) and tail suspension test (TST). RESULTS: BLA Nos1+ neurons were predominantly glutamatergic, and glutamatergic but not GABAergic Nos1+ neurons were involved in controlling anxiety- and depression-related behaviors. Interestingly, by selectively manipulating the activities of BLA Nos1+ and Nos1- excitatory neurons, we found that they had opposing effects on anxiety- and depression-related behaviors. BLA Nos1+ excitatory neurons projected to the adBNST, this BLA-adBNST circuit controlled the expression of anxiety- and depression-related behaviors, while BLA Nos1- excitatory neurons projected to vHPC, this BLA-vHPC circuit contributed to the expression of anxiety- and depression-related behaviors. Moreover, excitatory vHPC-adBNST circuit antagonized the role of BLA-adBNST circuit in regulating anxiety- and depression-related behaviors. CONCLUSIONS: BLA Nos1+ and Nos1- excitatory neuron subpopulations exert different effects on anxiety- and depression-related behaviors through distinct projection circuits, providing a new insight of BLA excitatory neurons in emotional regulation. LIMITATIONS: We did not perform retrograde labeling from adBNST and vHPC regions.

RESUMEN

Objective: This study aimed to explore possible associations between molecular subtypes and site of distant metastasis in advanced breast cancer (ABC). Methods: 3577 ABC patients were selected from 21 hospitals of seven geographic regions in China from 2012-2014. A questionnaire was designed to collect medical information regarding demographic characteristics, risk factors, molecular subtype, recurrence/metastasis information, and disease-free survival (DFS). The cancers were classified into Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-enriched and Triple Negative subtypes. Chi-square test and multivariate Cox proportional hazard models were performed to explore the associations between molecular subtypes and distant metastasis sites. Results: A total of 2393 cases with molecular subtypes information were finally examined. Patients with Luminal A (51.1%) and Luminal B (44.7%) were most prone to bone metastasis, whereas liver metastasis was more frequently observed in HER2-enriched ABC patients (29.1%).The cumulative recurrence and metastasis rates of ABC patients at 36 months of DFS were the most significant within molecular types, of which Triple Negative was the highest (82.7%), while that of Luminal A was the lowest (58.4%). In the adjusted Cox regression analysis, Luminal B, HER2-enriched and Triple Negative subtypes increased the risk of visceral metastasis by 23%, 46% and 87% respectively. In addition, Triple Negative patients had a higher probability of brain metastasis (HR 3.07, 95% CI: 1.04-9.07). Conclusion: Molecular subtypes can predict the preferential sites of distant metastasis, emphasizing that these associations were of great help in choices for surveillance, developing appropriate screening and cancer management strategies for follow-up and personalized therapy in ABC patients.

RESUMEN

Dental calculus is a potential material that can be used for assessing chronic exposure to trace heavy metals in oral cavity as it is a long-term reservoir. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between dental calculus copper levels and risk of oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) due to chewing dried areca-nut quids in Mainland China. This study included 34 OSF (grade 1) sufferers with dried areca-nut quids chewing as the patient group and 23 healthy individuals without areca-nut chewing as the control group. The dental calculus sample was obtained from all 57 participants and evaluated by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for dental calculus level of copper. This work revealed that the mean copper level of dental calculus was significantly higher in OSF (grade 1) sufferers with areca-nut chewing than those in healthy individuals without areca-nut chewing (p < 0.001). This work provided an evidence to support that there may be a positive correlation between elevated levels of copper in dental calculus caused by chewing dried areca-nut quids and an increased risk of developing OSF in Mainland China.

RESUMEN

AIM: To investigate the mechanism of pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate(PDTC)on transforming growth factor-beta 2(TGF-β2)-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)in human lens epithelial cells(LECs).METHODS: LECs were treated with various doses of PDTC chemicals following TGF-β2 caused EMT on these cells. Cell proliferation and lateral migration were discovered using the CCK-8 and cell scratch test. The markers of EMT, including E-cadherin, α-SMA and nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)signaling pathway-related expression, were tested by Western Blot as well as the changes in the expression of the apoptosis-related proteins BAX, BCL-2, Caspase-3, and Cyclin D1.RESULTS: The proliferation and migration viability of cells in the TGF-β2 treated group was increased compared to the group without TGF-β2, and the expression of α-SMA increased whereas the E-cadherin expression decreased. With the effect of TGF-β2, NF-κB p65 and phosphorylated NF-κB p65 expression increased, the concentration of TGF-β2 that had the greatest capacity for proliferation and migration was 10 ng/mL(P<0.05). Mechanism study of PDTC-induced EMT reversal and apoptosis showed that cell viability and migratory capability were both significantly reduced after PDTC intervention; PDTC prevents IκB phosphorylation, thus inhibiting NF-κB nuclear translocation. Protein associated to the NF-κB signaling pathway, and protein expression of NF-κB/IκBα/p-IκBα/Iκκ-α/p-Iκκ-α was decreased(P<0.05), PDTC increased the expression of the pro-apoptotic protein BAX/Caspase-3, expression of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein BCL-2 and the cell cycle protein Cyclin D1 was reduced. The expression of NF-κB/IκB mRNA was reduced, expression of the apoptosis-related mRNA BAX increased, while BCL-2 reduced.CONCLUSION: The EMT in LECs cells induced by TGF-β2 can be significantly reversed by PDTC, which may be related to the decreased expression of NF-κB p65/IκB/Iκκ-α and activation of apoptosis-related protein. PDTC can reverse EMT by inhibiting NF-κB signaling pathway and induce apoptosis of abnormally proliferated cells, which will provide new potential therapeutic agents for posterior capsular opacification(PCO)treatment.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE@#This study aimed to investigate the association of ambient PM2.5 exposure with blood pressure (BP) at the population level in China.@*METHODS@#A total of 14,080 participants who had at least two valid blood pressure records were selected from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Survey during 2011-2015. Their long-term PM2.5 exposure was assessed at the geographical level, on the basis of a regular 0.1° × 0.1° grid over China. A mixed-effects regression model was used to assess associations.@*RESULTS@#Each decrease of 10 μg/m3 in the 1 year-mean PM2.5 concentration (FPM1Y) was associated with a decrease of 1.24 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.84-1.64] mmHg systolic BP (SBP) and 0.50 (95% CI: 0.25-0.75) mmHg diastolic BP (DBP), respectively. A robust association was observed between the long-term decrease in PM2.5 and decreased BP in the middle-aged and older population. Using a generalized additive mixed model, we further found that SBP increased nonlinearly overall with FPM1Y but in an approximately linear range when the FPM1Y concentration was < 70 µg/m3; In contrast, DBP increased approximately linearly without a clear threshold.@*CONCLUSION@#Efficient control of PM2.5 air pollution may promote vascular health in China. Our study provides robust scientific support for making the related air pollution control policies.

RESUMEN

This study aimed to examine the mediating role of anxiety and depression in the relationship between coping styles and life satisfaction among frontline medical workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Five hundred and fourteen frontline medical workers from Zunyi were recruited to complete questionnaires, including the Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ). SPSS 24.0 was used to measure the characteristics of anxiety, depression, life satisfaction, and coping styles. We found that the prevalence rates of anxiety and depression among study participants were 22.57% and 18.29%, respectively. Besides, anxiety was positively correlated with depression; anxiety and depression were positively correlated with passive coping style but negatively correlated with life satisfaction and active coping style; life satisfaction was positively correlated with active coping style and negatively correlated with passive coping style (all p < 0.001). Moreover, anxiety and depression mediated the relationship between coping styles and life satisfaction. Anxiety accounted for 18.6% of the effect of active coping style and 35.48% of the effect of passive coping style on life satisfaction. Depression accounted for 48.84% of the effect of active coping style and 67.74% of the effect of passive coping style on life satisfaction. The present study provides novel insights into the effect of subclinical anxiety and depression on frontline medical workers in the pandemic area. Anxiety and depression yielded a mediating effect on the relationship between coping styles and life satisfaction.

RESUMEN

Candida duobushaemulonii, type II Candida haemulonii complex, is closely related to Candida auris and capable of causing invasive and non-invasive infections in humans. Eleven strains of C. duobushaemulonii were collected from China Hospital Invasive Fungal Surveillance Net (CHIF-NET) and identified using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF), VITEK 2 Yeast Identification Card (YST), and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequencing. Whole genome sequencing of C. duobushaemulonii was done to determine their genotypes. Furthermore, C. duobushaemulonii strains were tested by Sensititre YeastOne™ and Clinical and Laboratory Institute (CLSI) broth microdilution panel for antifungal susceptibility. Three C. duobushaemulonii could not be identified by VITEK 2. All 11 isolates had high minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) to amphotericin B more than 2 µg/ml. One isolate showed a high MIC value of ≥64 µg/ml to 5-flucytosine. All isolates were wild type (WT) for triazoles and echinocandins. FUR1 variation may result in C. duobushaemulonii with high MIC to 5-flucytosine. Candida duobushaemulonii mainly infects patients with weakened immunity, and the amphotericin B resistance of these isolates might represent a challenge to clinical treatment.

RESUMEN

This is the first study to explore the positive effects of ginseng stem and leaf saponins (GSLS) on antioxidant capability, immunity, and disease resistance of crucian carp. Seven hundred fifty crucian carps (initial body weight: 25 ± 0.15 g (mean ± SE)) were randomly allocated into five groups with three replicates each; five diets supplemented with the final concentration of 0, 1, 2, 4, and 8 g/kg GSLS were fed to crucian carp for 5 weeks. The results demonstrated that, at a concentration of 8 g/kg, the contents of IgM, C4, SOD, GSH-Px, and the activity of AKP in serum of crucian carp gradually increased at 7, 14, 21, 28, and 35 days, and the expression of immune-relative cytokine genes (TNF-α, IL-10, IFN-γ) in the liver, spleen, and the intestinal tract also had a significant up-regulation (P < 0.05), and which were significant difference compared with control (P < 0.05). The above results demonstrated that dietary GSLS showed enhancement effects on the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capability, and innate immune response of crucian carp. The feed of 8 g/kg GSLS for 1 week could improve the survival rate 44% more than the control group when crucian carp infected Aeromonas hydrophila (A. hydrophila). In conclusion, the addition of GSLS at a concentration of 8 g/kg in the diet improve immune-related enzyme activity better, immune-relative cytokine expression, and disease resistance.

RESUMEN

Background: Several studies have indicated possible associations between age and the prognosis of breast cancer (BC), but limited data are available from hospital-based multicenter studies in China. This study aimed to explore the associations between age at initial diagnosis of BC and the risk of recurrence or metastasis among Chinese women with newly diagnosed advanced breast cancer (ABC) and provide treatment decision support for BC patients of different ages to medical workers. Methods: The medical records of patients newly diagnosed with ABC were obtained from 21 hospitals in seven geographic regions in China from 2012 to 2014. Patients' general information, clinicopathological features at first diagnosis, treatment information, and prognosis were retrospectively collected based on the self-designed case report form (CRF). Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to determine hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) for the associations between age groups and the risk of recurrence and metastasis. Results: A total of 1,852 cases were included in the final analysis. Age at initial diagnosis was shown to be significantly related to hormone receptor status, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) status, molecular subtypes, and the number of lymph node metastasis (all P<0.05). Patients aged <35 years were more likely to have bone metastasis (45.6%). Patients aged ≥65 years had a lower percentage of receiving surgery (87.1%), adjuvant chemotherapy (61.3%), adjuvant radiotherapy (35.5%), and adjuvant endocrine therapy (30.6%) than the other groups (all P<0.05). Compared with patients aged <35 years, the risk of recurrence or metastasis in those aged 55-64 years was significantly higher (HRage 55-64 =1.24, 95% CI: 1.04-1.47), and the risk of bone metastasis and lung metastasis in those aged 35-44 years was lower (HRbone metastasis =0.74, 95% CI: 0.59-0.93; HRlung metastasis =0.70, 95% CI: 0.53-0.93). After adjusting for stage, grade, and molecular subtype, surgery, neoadjuvant chemotherapy, adjuvant chemotherapy, adjuvant radiotherapy, adjuvant endocrine therapy, and family history of BC, patients aged 35-44 years still had a significantly reduced risk of bone metastasis and lung metastasis by 31% and 52%, respectively (HRbone metastasis =0.69, 95% CI: 0.48-0.98; HRlung metastasis =0.48, 95% CI: 0.31-0.74). Conclusions: Age at initial diagnosis is related to the clinicopathological characteristics and treatment pattern. Although the risk of site-specific metastasis varies by age, age is not an independent factor influencing the risk of total recurrence and metastasis. In accordance with current clinical practice guidelines for BC, however, precise treatment shall be chosen personally for patients whose ages at initial diagnosis are different.

RESUMEN

Maturity-onset diabetes of the young 3 (MODY3) is an autosomal dominant monogenic diabetes mellitus characterized by defective ß-cell function and non-insulin-dependent early-onset diabetes mellitus. The facts that patients with MODY3 are often misdiagnosed as type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus and genetic diagnosis is expensive, make its diagnosis very challenging. In this study, we reported a case of MODY3, which was verified to be caused by a mutation in hepatocyte nuclear factor 1α gene (c.598C>T, p.Arg200Trp). In addition, the patient had a neuroendocrine tumor simultaneously, and a KMT2D gene mutation (c.5587C>G, p.Pro1863Ala) might be associated with this leson.

RESUMEN

Acidosis is a hallmark of ischemic stroke and a promising neuroprotective target for preventing neuronal injury. Previously, genetic manipulations showed that blockade of acid-sensing ion channel 1a (ASIC1a)-mediated acidotoxicity could dramatically alleviate the volume of brain infarct and restore neurological function after cerebral ischemia. However, few pharmacological candidates have been identified to exhibit efficacy on ischemic stroke through inhibition of ASIC1a. In this work, we examined the ability of a toxin-inspired compound 5b (C5b), previously found to effectively inhibit ASIC1a in vitro, to exert protective effects in animal models of ischemic stroke in vivo. We found that C5b exerts significant neuroprotective effects not only in acid-induced neuronal death in vitro but also ischemic brain injury in vivo, suggesting that ASIC1a is a druggable target for therapeutic development. More importantly, C5b is able to cross the blood brain barrier and significantly reduce brain infarct volume when administered intravenously in the ischemic animal model, highlighting its systemic availability for therapies against neurodegeneration due to acidotoxicity. Together, our data demonstrate that C5b is a promising lead compound for neuroprotection through inhibiting ASIC1a, which warrants further translational studies.

RESUMEN

The nectar of Camellia reticulata Lindl. contains sugar, amino acids and other nutritional components, suggesting that it could be developed for food and food additives. To understand the effects of the nectar on human health, we investigated its chemical constituents. Two new flavonoid glycosides, cameretiins A and B (1 and 2), and two known flavonoid glycosides, kaempferol 3-O-(2''-O-E-p-coumaroyl)-ß-D-glucopyranoside (3) and tiliroside (4) were obtained from the nectar of Camellia reticulata Lindl. Their structures were determined based on analysis of their spectroscopic data and by comparison with 1D NMR spectroscopic data of known compounds reported in the literature. Compounds (1-4) were first isolated from the nectar of Camellia reticulata Lindl.
